Naturally then, the goal of CMB experiments after COBE has been to increase the angular resolution of the maps and study the small scale features in the power spectrum.

There has been an explosion of data in recent years that measure the degree scale structure of the CMB temperature across relatively large patches of sky at a high signal-to-noise.  Two recent experiments, the Boomerang and Maxima experiments are shown below:

Experiments like these have ushered in a new age of precision cosmology.
